The SJPUC OBA was formed on 31st January in the presence of the Chief Guest for the occasion, Mr. George Ollapally (former President of SJBHS) under the supervision of Rev. Fr. Melvin Lobo SJ, the Principal of SJPUC and its members who were nominated by the faculty members. The OBA is a part of St. Joseph’s Pre University College, an institution now administered by the Bangalore Jesuit Educational Society.
The SJPUC OBA constitution and Core Committee was officially formed, launched and approved on the 23rd of Sept 2021. There was lot of hard work put in by the committee members in getting the constitutional draft documented and signed off by BJES.
The committee is grateful to Fr. Swebert, and Fr. Roshan for all their support and guidance in achieving this feat. We also thank Mr. Albert Anthony, Ms. Smitha and Ms. Renuka the Staff Coordinator for SJPUC OBA, for their mentoring and support.
A special call out to Fr. Melvin Lobo who visioned this and brought the OBA to life for us to carry forward and lead the way for many years to come.
The OBA follows SJPUC’s motto of “Faith and Toil”. The OBA aims to being into closer union and friendship, all the former pupils of St. Joseph’s Pre University College to animate an interest and connection with their alma mater. The goal of the OBA is to allow former students to reminisce about their time as students, providing opportunities to engage with the students, faculty and volunteers that make up the SJPUC Family. It desires to perpetuate the pride that sits deep in the hearts of the students.
The Old Boys Association will be the compass and guide to the class of the present batch, our newest alumni, that ensures that our future men of influence are never lost. It aspires to create a league of individuals who are bonded in Love and Fellowship, endeavouring to be men for others as partners in the Jesuit effort in forming human beings grown to their full potential. Individuals who will give themselves to the service of others and the institution’s ideals such as “To give and not to count the cost” ‘Cura personalis’ and Magis’. The members will devise strategies to achieve these objectives in keeping with the Articles of Association.
May we lead by example keeping in mind our Josephite Motto “Faith and Toil” and do things “For the Greater Glory of God” (Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam).
